Digital Art Exhibition
Today, with the help of artist & photographer Graham Mckenzie Smith, we put up a digital art exhibition of over 80 framed prints. The prints are of a range of artworks created on the iPad by pupils from all stages of the school.
The exhibition is part of the Technology for Excellence conference that is being hosted by the school this week.
Middle school pupils will be opening the exhibition to parents, friends and the general public in the near future - we will keep you posted!

Dr Marks from Glaagow visits middle school
As part of our investigations into the DNA database, Dr Marks, a genetics lecturer from Glasgow University has spent the afternoon with us.
Dr Marks explored the reasons for and against having a DNA database.
We took our own fingerprints...
Mixed them up...
Then tried to match them up!...
We discovered how tricky fingerprint matching is- making us consider the benefits of a DNA database!
Then, Dr Marks spoke to us about how the database works, and examples of when it has been useful. She then explored with us some of the problems with a compulsory database- and was impressed with the childrens own research on the subject!
Here, volunteers are using string to represent their own DNA:
Then more volunteers tried to compare and match others DNA...
It's been a fascinating afternoon- a big thank you to Dr Marks for coming in.
