Olympics!

Today in middle school we were looking at power and endurance in different sports. Pupils also brainstormed all the different Olympic sports. We then looked at the attributes that are necessary in order to be an Olympic competitor:

Pupils created Wordfoto images of an Olympic sport using the attributes we had discussed. Here are few of the finished images:

Creative Writing

As part of their Olympic topic plan, middle school pupils suggested a creative writing exercise around the theme of winning and loosing.
Last Tuesday they worked with Mrs Creighton to plan a story based around this theme. They chose characters, settings and some objects that had to be included in the story... I am looking forward to reading some of their work this week!

We began working on our Olympics topic in middle school today. I went over the plans that pupils had made last week and explained how these would form part of the work in different curricular areas.

Then we began our Olympic Challenge! Pupils will working to improve their personal best time at running the 100m sprint. They will also be looking at their diet, the amount of exercise they do and their recovery rate by keeping a regular record.
