Design prototypes

Middle school have been working hard on their design projects this week. They have been working in groups to develop their ideas, investigate materials and make a working prototype. They have all worked really well and made great progress:

Middle school English

We have started a new text in English, a dramatised version of Helen Forrester's autobiography Twopence to Cross the Mersey. Today, we were acting out some scenes from the play in class.

Design projects!

Middle school were working in groups on their design projects today. They were trying out ideas, sourcing materials and experimenting with materials in order to create the best prototypes possible. Here are some photos of them at work:

Taking part in democracy

Middle school are learning the key features of democracy, and how we take part in decision making in our society.

They have discussed, taken notes, answered questions- and are now able to answer the question : 'what is democracy?'

Here, they are sorting through country fact files and deciding how democratic they are:

Middle school have spent the afternoon tackling this question. -

They have learnt about topic sentences-

Dragons Den presentations

Middle school pupils were giving presentations about their iPad accessory designs today. They presented to their classmates, Miss Oakley, Mr Speirs and Mrs Speirs. On the whole the standard of work was high and there were some very interesting ideas. Here are some photos of a few presentations:







Pupils were assessed on both their presentation skills and on their slide deck:
